Community and Outreach Projects

Becoming aware of children and families who are less fortunate is important to our children’s moral and spiritual development. We encourage our students to develop a compassionate attitude toward others by participating in several outreach projects during the year such as:

SPAN - Severna Park Assistance Network

THE MITTEN TREE - New mittens and underwear for the needy at Christmas time placed on trees in both schools

HOMELESS FOOD BASKET DONATIONS - Thanksgiving / Christmas

HOMELESS - New or slightly used toys and clean coats for distribution to Baltimore homeless shelters on Christmas Eve

LEUKEMIA SOCIETY - LEUKEMIA HOP (pledges of 5/10-cents or a flat contribution for number of hops in a two minute period)

HOMELESS SHELTER - Church and Day School feed homeless men in the Parish Hall in February or March.

HAITI - LA RESURRECTION EPISCOPAL SCHOOL - in Gros Mome, Haiti - ages 3-16 - "Hop for Haiti" for educational supply donations.  See Haiti Partnership for more information.

KATIE FRITZ MEMORIAL GOSPEL CONCERT - Singers come together to celebrate the life of Katie Fritz, a young parishioner who died suddenly at the age of 15. The proceeds from the evening’s plate collection benefit the school’s Katie Fritz Scholarship Fund.

SARAH'S HOUSE - Elementary children provide desserts on a regular basis.

ST. JUDE TRIKE-A-THON - Pre School Annual fundraiser to raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

HOLIDAY TRADE FAIR - Elementary children sing at this annual event sponsored by the Severna Park Chamber of Commerce.

PROJECT ANYSOLDIER - Care packages for American Soldiers currently serving overseas.

THE HEIFER PROJECT - Cook out and class fundraisers to raise money to buy livestock for communities in underdeveloped countries.

GREEN SCHOOL INITIATIVE - St. Martin's in-the Field Day School is comitted to continuing to be environmental stewards both locally and internationally.
